About
Salem Pioneer Village, formally known as Plymouth Village or “Salem 1630: Pioneer Village”, is America’s first living history museum. It spans about three acres in Forest River Park and features meticulously recreated 17th‑century structures—dugouts, wigwams, thatched cottages, the Governor’s Fayre House—as well as gardens, a blacksmith’s shop, a sawmill, and saltworks, all intended to immerse visitors in colonial settler life. In 1993 it was featured in the opening scene of Hocus Pocus.
