About the Mystic District

What began as a simple desire for some witch vibes at the Black Cauldron in Nelson, British Columbia, quickly turned into something much more magical.

In the search for other witchy and magical stops along the way, a map was created—first for personal use, then shared with a growing community of like-minded travelers.  This interactive Proxi map connected magical shops, markets, cafes, bars and Halloween-inspired events, and other magical businesses across B.C. and beyond.

We received an email from Proxi talking about how fun the map was and they asked to feature it in their October posts.

As the map gained momentum, support and recommendations started pouring in, including from members of the Witches of Vancouver Facebook group.  The project quickly expanded internationally, catching the attention of Proxi, who featured it in their October campaign.

From that spark of inspiration, the idea for a dedicated business association and directory for magical businesses was born.  With encouragement from friends and collaborators, the concept evolved into what is now a growing, supportive platform for witchy entrepreneurs, magical businesses, and those who are ready for an arcane adventure.

Today, the association helps promote and connect magical businesses around the world, through a carefully curated directory, bespoke travel itineraries, and resources for small business owners in the magical and mystical realms.

And yes—The Black Cauldron was worth the trip.  Little did we know, it would stir up a cauldron of inspiration all its own.
