Curious about getting out of the broom closet and letting your freaky flag fly? Here are some things to spot like-minded Witches and put out your own witchy welcome mat.
Purple Doors:
Ever seen a beautifully purple front door? This is one of the more highly recognized signs of a Witchy occupant. Purple is actually the highest vibration of the visible spectrum, which makes it a very potent and powerful colour. Purple represents spiritual protection and intuition which guards sacred spaces and is a perfect choice as a paint colour for a front door!
Herb Gardens:
A wild patch of herbs might not be a sign of neglect, but rather a personal apothecary. Nettles, Chamomile, Roses, Lavender, Mugwort, Yarrow and my personal favourite, Rosemary can be handy at a moment’s notice. I use Rosemary as both an ingredient but also for its protection properties as a herb by my door.
Familiar References:
Familiars or their representation can be a sign of a witch. The presence of or symbols/statues of cats, crows or even frogs are signs your neighbour may be attracting familiars!
Moon References:
From crescent wind chimes to full moon sun catchers, elements of the moon strengthen the connection to the moon. The moon is a power source for us witches that we use to charge and cleanse water, crystals as well as utilize for spellwork.
Otherworldly Wreathes:
One of my absolute favourites! Besides the crescent moon wreathe designs that went viral, having a wreathe that aligns with the Wiccan calendar or works with a spell is a huge tell that there are witches in your midst. I love using colours, elements and something unexpected like a spider clinging to the side. It gives a little unexpected element that keeps my neighbours on their toes!
